Ian Marchant
Ian Marchant began juggling at the ripe old age of 14 and caught the performing bug soon after that, first performing in the nightclubs of his hometown of Bedford in the UK then spreading further afield to London and beyond.
Taking inspiration from the likes of Buster Keaton and Stan Laurel Ian found his "silent voice" and mixed this with the skills of the great "Gentleman Jugglers" of the early 1900's to create a unique style of his own.
Ian’s been all over the world with his solo shows and has performed in numerous cabarets and varieties, aboard cruise ships and in theatres. His real passion though is performing outdoors on the streets of the world. Ian has performed at the infamous Limberg Street Theatre Festival, Watch This Space at the National Theatre in London Winchester Hat Fair, and at festivals in Singapore, Dubai, Qatar, South Africa and Finland to name a few.
Ian has worked in and performed with many international companies. These include Gandini Juggling, The Royal Opera, Genco and Glyndebourne Opera. Also Ian has been invited to perform in front of his peers and alongside some of his juggling heroes at both the British Juggling Convention and the European Juggling convention.
As well as being a performer Ian is also a teacher. Teaching juggling and performance on the degree programme at The National Centre for Circus Arts in London, UK.
